MQI leader Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has expressed his deep sense of grief and sorrow on human and economic losses caused by the rainfall and snowfall in Azad Kashmir, Balochistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan. He prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed souls in peace, grant early recovery to the injured. He said the people of Pakistan and MQI workers were with their brothers and sisters who were braving harsh weather conditions and attendant miseries.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said the relief and rehabilitation of the affectees should be the top priority of the government. He said it is encouraging that rescue and relief operations have been launched. He said the people of the snow-hit areas in Balochistan, and AJK will be needing food, medicines, fuel and warm beds, stating that the federal and provincial governments must be attending to these requirements in the first place.

Dr Qadri said the relevant government institutions would have done the damage need assessment by now and in case there is a massive need for essential items, the government should not delay in launching a drive for this purpose. He said roads have been blocked due to snowfall and land sliding, suggesting the helicopters should be used to reach the stranded people.
