Dr. Sikandar Sultan Raja appointed new CEC for five years.

ISLAMABAD -- Retired bureaucrat Dr. Sikandar Sultan Raja on Friday has been appointed as new Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) after approval of his name from parliamentary committee.

According to the notification issued by Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Nisar Durrani from Sindh and Shah Muhammad Jatoi from Balochistan have also been recruited as members of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). The notification of appointments in ECP has been issued after the approval of President Dr. Arif Alvi.

Now the Election Commission of Pakistan will approach the Supreme Court of Pakistan while requesting Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Gulzar Ahmed to administer oath to the newly appointed Chief Election Commissioner Dr. Sikandar Sultan Raja. Meanwhile CEC will administer oath to newly appointed members of ECP from Sindh and Balochistan.
