Double Action clinches feature event at Lahore races.

LAHORE -- Two-year-old chestnut colt Double Action mesmerised his nine rivals to win the feature event during the Lahore Winter Meeting at the Racecourse here on Wednesday.

The son of Assassi,trained by Zahid Khan and ridden by jockey Babar Rehman, showed a swift speed action besides stamina to greatly surprise the race-goers by grabbing the event-a class VI Division III and IV combined handicap race in a dramatic finish during the Yasoob Plate run over 1,300 metres.

He beat colt Pockets by over three lengths with chestnut colt JF Thunder third while bay colt Sinner completed the board. The winner clocked one minute 21 1/5 seconds over the race distance.

In the supporting event, the Yasoob Plate Class VII Division I and II race contested over 1,200 metres bay filly Secret Lady won in a thrilling encounter between a quartet of runners. Secret Lady beat gelding Salam-e-Lahore by half-a-length, with bay colt Gold Man to nosed out third position while mare Sher Garh Queen, despite running in front during much of the race, fell back to edge the...
