Disparities between S Punjab, rest of province highlighted.

DERA GHAZI KHAN -- The Seraiki Lok Sanjh organised a webinar in which dozens of young students, academics and researchers participated.

The panelists, including NYU scholar Sobha Gadi, Sindh National Finance Commission member Asad Saeed and PPP representative Haider Zaman Qureshi, discussed the issues ranging from poverty and accessibility to the basic needs like education and health to the national economy and the budget, specifically of Punjab, and it's uneven allocation to south Punjab.

According to the panelists, the analysis of Punjab's district-wise data suggested that Seraiki people suffered from poverty and reduced access to facilities of life.

Sobha Gadi, in his analysis of data of main divisions of Seraiki region, showed that population of these divisions was bound to live in poverty in contrast to divisions of the upper Punjab where the percentage of poor population was far low. Likewise, another analysis highlighted that the numbers of out-of-school children in DG Khan, Bahawalpur and Multan divisions were far higher than those in Lahore, Gujranwala and Faisalabad.
