Disbursement data being made digital for transparency: EOBI chairman.

RAWALPINDI -- Employees' Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) Chairman Azhar Hameed has said that the registration of employees and disbursement data is being made digital so that transparency can be maintained.

'The online portal and direct registration will improve service delivery of the organisation,' he said while expressing his views during his visit to Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) on Wednesday.

Mr Hameed said no business centre/organisation will be harassed by the EOBI in the name of audit or registration of employees.

'Employers can directly send their complaints and immediate action will be taken,' he said.

He informed that during the fiscal year 2018-19, EOBI has disbursed pensions worth Rs33 billion.

'The first ever 'Pension Day' ceremony was organised to recognise contributions made by the private sector in ensuring Employees Old-Age benefits including pensions and grants paid to those working in the private sector,' he added.

He said that reforms are being made to improve performance of the institute and ensure transparency.
