Dir nurses ask govt to release charcoal allowance.

LOWER DIR -- Nurses Association, Lower Dir chapter, on Wednesday demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to immediately release their pending charcoal allowance.

The demand was made during a meeting of the association held at the district headquarters hospital, Timergara, with its president Hidayatullah in chair. The participants threatened to boycott their duties if charcoal funds meant for nurses were not released within a week.

Speaking on the occasion, Hidayatullah and others said the nurses performed duties with utmost devotion in the harsh winter. They said charcoal funds for nurses of the DHQ hospital had been specified, but they were yet to get them.

The speakers said that 4 per cent of the funds had been released, but the finance department was delaying the matter for unknown reasons.

Also in the day, provincial president of All Teachers Association Syed Mohammad Shah demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to announce proper increase in salaries of government employees.
