Dijkot police station firing: Case registered against five suspects.

TOBA TEK SINGH -- Police registered on Sunday a case against five suspects - three nominated and two unidentified persons - on the charge of opening fire on their rivals outside Dijkot police station, killing one of them and injuring four others, including a police constable, on Saturday.

The first information report (FIR) was registered by Dijkot police under sections 302, 109, 324, 148 and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), on the complainant of Zohra Bibi, the mother of the deceased, Javed Iqbal Wahgra.

The complainant, a widow, resident of Chak 249-RB, stated in the FIR that she and her son Javed, along with their relatives, were present outside Dijkot police station near a parking lot for joining investigation into a murder case registered against her deceased son (Javed).

Meanwhile, she said, their opponent Farman Ali Fanni and his four accomplices arrived there on motorcycles and opened indiscriminate fire on them.

As a result, her son Javed Iqbal Wahgra and three others, including a policeman, Rizwan, were injured, she said. Later, her son succumbed to his wounds, while others were admitted to the Allied Hospital, Faisalabad.

The police continued raids to arrest the suspects.
