Development projects must be completed on time: commissioner.

TAXILA -- Rawalpindi Commissioner retired Capt Mohammad Mehmood said on Thursday that the timetable for the completion of development projects should be maintained and the quality of work should be emphasised.

Mr Mehmood was speaking at a meeting at the Attock deputy commissioner's office to review ongoing development projects and review the progress of district government departments.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Ali Anan Qammar, chief executive officers of the education and health departments, local heads of provisional departments, assistant commissioners of six tehsils and other concerned officers of various departments.

Mr Mehmood said 209 development projects including roads, infrastructure, education, sports, local government and public health are underway in Attock district with an overall cost of Rs334.7m. He said the allocated budget needs to be utilised effectively and it should be ensured that funds do not lapse.

Delays in development work inconveniences the public, he said, and would not be tolerated. He directed the concerned officers to make field visits to sites where development projects are underway for timely completion and to maintain the quality of work.
