China's economy has entered a medium-to-low-speed development period from long-term high-speed development. Most traditional industrial industries (such as coal, steel, cement, etc.) have experienced serious overcapacity. Under the circumstance of changes in the times and the market demand, some of the lack of capital and policy attention to the traditional industries such as sand aggregate re-emerged.

Three stages of sand and gravel aggregate development

The development of the sand and gravel aggregate industry is a process of continuous development along with the development of infrastructure and the advancement of sand and gravel aggregate production equipment technology.

From the development stage, it can be roughly divided into three stages:

From 1949 to 1978, the industry started, the sand and gravel aggregate industry developed slowly, the demand for aggregates of sand and gravel was small, and natural resources were sufficient.

From 1978 to 2012, the rapid development stage of the industry, along with a series of opportunities brought about by the reform and opening up, infrastructure construction, engineering construction and real estate development grew rapidly, and the demand for sand and gravel aggregates continued to increase. Natural resources are depleted, supply is weak, demand for sand and gravel market continues to expand, production processes and technologies continue to develop, and mechanism sandstones are increasingly dominant, with mechanism sand and aggregates as a by-product.

Since 2012, the demand for sand and aggregate aggregates has increased year by year and stabilized in the industry transformation stage. In 2014, China's construction sand and gravel consumption exceeded 15 billion tons for the first time. In 2018, market demand stabilized at around 18 billion tons. The technology of sandstone production is becoming more and more mature, and the production methods are also developing in the direction of modernization, large-scale, environmental protection and intelligence. The aggregate structure of sand and gravel aggregates has been comprehensively transformed and upgraded in terms of production methods, regional scope, business model, management model, product quality and environmental protection measures.
