Desk study, sources planning for Sindh Barrage project starts.

ISLAMABAD -- The desk study and sources planning for Sindh Barrage project has been initiated besides submission of PC-II for its feasibility study amounting to Rs 350 million to the ministry of water resources.

Sources told reporter here that after clearance from the ministry, it would be sent to the planning commission for further approval.

They said coordination with different departments including Geological Survey of Pakistan, Sindh Irrigation Department, Sindh Irrigation and Drainage Authority and National Institute of Oceanography was also in process.

Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) had conceived the project in light of the prime minister's directives to address the critical issues of low riparian of Indus River downstream Kotri.
