Departmental action recommended against errant DSP.

HYDERABAD -- Departmental action has been recommended against DSP Faheem Farooqui for 'breaking chain of command' and using an 'informal medium of communication' with a senior officer in the wake of his accusatory audio clip against a subordinate, SHO Niaz Panhwar, which went viral on social media about two weeks ago.

Hyderabad Range's Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Naeem Shaikh has submitted to AIG (Establishment) Attaullah Chandio the recommendation for action against the DSP on the basis of an inquiry report submitted by Sujawal SP.

DIG Shaikh has also recommended a separate inquiry against sub inspector Panhwar, the then SHO of Pinyari police station. The inquiry report had made three recommendations, two against the DSP and one against the SHO, said sources.

The DSP had been held responsible for misconduct, using informal medium of communication with a senior officer, making post-dated entries in official register XIII at Pinyari police station and the SHO was accused of disobeying the DSP's orders, said the sources.

The DSP had made some allegations but not specifically attributed anything to the SHO while the SHO had claimed that he had obeyed all legal orders and kept him in the loop about all necessary matters. But the DSP...
