Islamabad -- Dengue outbreak sets a new record in Pakistan.

Approximately 44 thousand people have been infected by Dengue so far during current year while 66 have passed away due to this disease.

Dr Rana Safdar, chief of Disease Surveillance Division at the National Institute of Health in his interview said that extraordinary number of Dengue cases have been reported throughout the world this year, but 'Pakistan's performance as compared to other countries remains better', he clamed.

He further concluded that Dengue outbreak has been discussed in a meting held in Atlanta United State (U.S) in which representatives from other countries not only praised the performance of Pakistani government but also requested to document the experience of preventing the disease in the country.

Dr Rana Safdar said that Karachi is the only city where 94 percent of Dengue cases of Sindh have been reported. He said that Dengue outbreak season is almost in ending stage but this could continue to the last of this year because...
