Demand for Sindh representation in federal bodies reiterated.

KARACHI -- The Sindh government has reiterated its demand to the federal government to nominate representatives of provinces as members to board of directors, board of governors or management committees of federal entities in the electricity sector in order to bring them in compliance with constitutional provisions.

This was stated by Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Ahmad Sheikh in a letter written to Federal Minister for Power Omar Ayub Khan.

Referring his previous letter, Mr Sheikh said that Article 154(1) of 1973 Constitution, as amended by 18 amendment, provided that the Council of Common Interest (CCI) shall formulate and regulate policies in relation to matters in Part 11 of the federal legislative list (FLL) and shall exercise supervision and control over related institutions, the part 11 of FLL includes the subject of...
