DCs asked for updates on heinous crimes.

RAWALPINDI -- The home department has directed deputy commissioners across the province to keep themselves updated on the progress of cases of heinous crimes, especially deaths in police custody, and inform the home department.

The authorities said such cases of crimes had an impact on law and order in the province and the DCs did not keep themselves informed and updated on the progress of such cases.

The deputy commissioners along with district police officers are jointly responsible for public order in their districts under the Civil Administration Act 2017.

Therefore, the DCs should keep themselves updated about such crimes and the progress on their investigations.
