Date for rectification in voter lists extended.

LAHORE -- The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has extended the date for submitting applications to rectify wrong addresses, if any, of voters in the provisional electoral lists displayed for the general public at various points in each town and city across the country.

A press release issued by the ECP says the last date for any addition or deletion has been extended from Jan 24 to Feb 15 in view of the interest being shown by the voters.

One can know one's vote number and relevant display centre by sending an SMS on toll-free number 8300.

Any voter who spots in the list any anomaly with one's address, carried from the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) record, may get it rectified by submitting the form available for the purpose at the display centre.

People visiting the display centres are surprised to see that their votes have been transferred to areas other than they are living in without their request or informing them.
