Daniel Pearl murder case: SC orders Sindh govt to provide facility to counsel for Umar Sheikh to meet the accused.

ISLAMABAD -- The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered Sindh government to provide facility to his counsel to meet Umar Ahmad Sheikh in Daniel Pearl murder case.

A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Mushir Alam took up for hearing the appeal pleas filed against Sindh High Court (SHC) decision in Daniel Pearl murder case Thursday.

Mehmood Sheikh the counsel for accused told the court the FIR in respect of kidnapping of Daniel Pearl was registered with the delay of 12 days. No reasons were presented for delaying the registration of FIR in Daniel Pearl case. Solid evidence has to be produced for delaying the registration of FIR in murder case. All the accused have been kept under illegal detention in this case. How it is possible that a life imprisonment convict makes threatening telephone calls to the president from jail.

The counsel Roy Bashir told Suleman Saqib along with Fahd Nasim purchased cameras and printers. No role of the things purchased has been proved in the case. Name of Suleman Saqib has not been mentioned in the statement of any witness. The prosecution is bringing piles of lies against the accused.
