CTD head directed to conduct refresher courses for officials.

ISLAMABAD -- Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Qazi Jamilur Rehman on Thursday visited the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and directed its administration to conduct refresher courses for officials.

The visit was made on the same day when IGP called on National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser.

During the meeting Mr Qaiser directed the capital IG to make the police professional and protect residents of the federal capital.

On January 2, 21-year-old man Usama Satti was killed by five officials of the CTD and later judicial inquiry proved that it was cold-blooded murder.

The IGP said that CTD had the eligibility to curb activities of anti-social elements and Islamabad police was proud of it.

DIG (Operations), AIG (Establishment), AIG (Operations), AIG (General), SSP (Headquarters), SSP (CTD), Director Safe City and SP (CTD) also accompanied the IG during the visit.

SSP (CTD) briefed the IGP about the performance of the department.

The IGP said that role of CTD had a very crucial role in maintaining law and order and prevention of terrorism related activities.

He directed the SSP to conduct refresher courses for the CTD personnel and ensure their capacity building on affairs related to intelligence.

The IGP also visited dispensary and recreation room established for the welfare of the policemen.
