CP Cricket Association exempted from holding trials to select city teams.

LAHORE -- The Pakistan Cricket Board has exempted the Central Punjab Cricket Association from holding trials to select 16 teams to take part in the Inter-city Senior Cricket Tournament.

Trials in the other 74 cities, falling in the jurisdiction of the other five regional associations - Sindh, Southern Punjab, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Northern - however have been completed.

Central Punjab, meanwhile, will select players from the club and little-known community tournaments organised by the association, Dawn has learnt.

The Inter-city tournament is due to begin from June 19 and the lack of open trials under the supervision of PCB's selection panel raise questions regarding transparency.
