Covid-19 claimed 14 more lives in Sindh, says Murad.

KARACHI -- Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said on Monday that 1,464 new cases of the coronavirus emerged overnight, raising the tally to 71,092 while 14 more patients died, lif ting the death toll to 1,103 in the province.

In a statement issued from the CM House, he said that 1,464 tested positive of the 9,841 tests conducted, which was 15 per cent of the total. `So far 388,690 samples have been tested which have detected 71,092 cases that came to 18.3 per cent,` he added.

According to the CM, 14 more patients died overnight, constituting 1.5pc death rate. `At present, 617 patients were in critical condition, of them 111 have been put on ventilators,` he added.

He said that at present, 32,945 patients were under treatment, including 31,390 at home isolation, 47 at isolation centres and 1,508 at different hospitals of the province.

As many as 766 patients recovered overnight.

Mr Shah said that out of the 1,464 new cases, 976 belonged to Karachi, including 297 in East, 282 in South, 153 in Central, 116 in Korangi, 96 in West and 32 new cases in Malir.
