Court suspends press club election schedule.

ISLAMABAD -- An additional district and sessions judge on Wednesday suspended the National Press Club's (NPC) election schedule and granted an interim relief after accepting an appeal against an order of a lower court.

The appeal was filed by Qaiser Nadeem against the NPC Election Committee Chairman Asim Qadeer Rana and its members.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Farrukh Fareed Baloch, while issuing the order, directed the civil judge to conclude the proceeding on the suit filed against the alleged anomalies in the voters' list.

While noting the contentions of the complainant in the order sheet, the judge states, 'primarily the appellant has prayed for ad-interim injunction on the basis of certain errors and inclusions in the members list while indicating that even some clerks and computer operators along with hundreds of persons without description of their status have been added to the list in violation of Article 2 of the NPC's constitution.'
