Court rejects Meesha Shafi plea for not recording statements of witnesses.

LAHORE -- Session court Lahore has rejected Singer Meesha Shafi's plea for not recording the statements of witnesses in defamation case. Additional session judge Lahore Amjad Ali Shah took up defamation case filed by actor Ali Zafar against singer Meesha Shafi for hearing on Saturday. During the course of hearing, court observed, 'Have witnesses come in the court'? Counsel of Meesha Shafi said that case pertaining to record the statements is pending hearing in the Supreme Court therefore we should wait till the decision of SC. Counsel prayed court that it should give us time till the decision of SC . Counsel of Ali Zafar said that he has come in the court along with witnesses; court should record their statements'. He said sessions judge Lahore too has issued orders to record statements today. Court while rejecting the appeal of Meesha Shafi's counsel started recording statements.
