Court hands over infant to mother.

HARIPUR -- A court on Wednesday handed over the custody of a three-month-old boy to his mother following his recovery from the father's house through a bailiff.

According to the counsel for the woman, Sumaira Bibib, a resident of Dara Dada Shaheed village of Khanpur, since her marriage to Akhlaq Ahmed of Kahka village about 18 months ago, her in-laws subjected her to violence over minor issues.

They said on June 26, the in-laws again beat her up and ousted her from their house after snatching her minor son, Ehsan, jewellery and clothes.

They said the woman's parents tried to resolve the dispute through jirgas but her in-laws refused to hand over the infant to the mother.

Afterwards, they said they moved an application under section 491 of CrPc seeking recovery of the minor through bailiff.

The court's bailiff and the police raided the house of Akhlaq and recovered the infant and produced him before the court of Additional Sessions Judge-I Arbab Sohail Ahmed.
