Counselling proposed for parents refusing polio drops to children.

TAXILA -- Polio workers must ensure that every child is administered polio drops and parents who refuse to do so are counselled.

This was highlighted by Deputy Commissioner Attock Dr Waqar Hassan Cheema. He expressed these views while reviewing the progress of health teams on the fourth day of the polio drive in the district on Thursday.

Chief Executive Officer (Health) Dr Mohsin Ashraf, District Health Officer Dr Kashif Hussan, Assistant Commissioner Attock Dr Irfan Raza, medical superintendent (District Headquarters Hospital), vaccination superintendent, in-charge polio control room and representatives from World Health Organisation (WHO) were also present.

'All six tehsils of the district have persistent data quality as well as micro-plan issues which need to be fixed. Areas which are located across the provincial boundary inside Punjab need to be combed to ensure that all households are accounted for and no child is out of the micro-plan,'...
