Coronavirus: Separate control room in every district demanded.

KARACHI -- National Forum for Environment and Health (NFEH) has demanded that in view of the coronavirus health emergency, a separate control room should be established in every district of Karachi Division instead of merely relying on a centralized one at the city commissioner's Office. In a statement issued on Friday, NFEH President demanded that relevant authorities of the federal and Sindh governments should establish a hotline contact with each other to effectively deal with the coronavirus health emergency in the city. 'Anything less than this hotline contact between the health authorities of Sindh and centre would be no of use to deal with this emergency situation,' he said. 'It is very unfortunate that even in the previous day, the Sindh Chief Minister was seen complaining that he personally was not being contacted by the federal authorities for a joint strategy against the coronavirus spread as according to him such lack of coordination between the centre and provinces could become a case similar to the recent locust swarms in the country that has become a serious issue with passage of time,' said the NFEH president.
