Cop facing rape allegations suspended.

BAHAWALNAGAR -- Bahawalnagar district police officer on Thursday suspended from service an Elite Force official facing charges of rape of a married woman in front of her son.

According to police, the woman, a resident of village Qamar Din, had alleged in a first information report (FIR) on Jan 8 that the Elite Force official had broken into her house and raped her at gunpoint in front of her son.

Saddar police lodged the FIR against the official and launched investigation.

Sources said the suspect was on interim bail, however, the complainant woman alleged that he had issued her threats with dire consequences a day back.
