Compensation sought for displaced tribesmen.

KOHAT -- The Ulema Council, Kohat division chapter, has called upon the government to take action against the elements disturbing peace in the Kurram district.

The demand was made at a meeting of the council held here on Sunday presided over by Maulana Mufti Mohammad Mujahid. The participants appealed to the government to pay the compensation to the victims of the 2008 strife to help them rebuild their houses and shops. They pointed out that the victims were paid one-time Rs350,000 each against their demand of Rs3.5 million, which was insufficient to reconstruct their houses and shops.
