Commissioner directs to launch crack down against overcharging in public transport.

ISLAMABAD -- Islamabad Chief Commissioner Capt (R) Anwar-ul-Haq on Tuesday directed to take stern action against price gougers and overcharging in public transport.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from the district administration, including Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon, Addl. Commissioner, Director (Law), Addl. Deputy Commissioners, Director (Agriculture Extension Services Cell), Deputy Director (Food), Secretary (Islamabad Transport Authority) and Assistant Commissioners.

The deputy commissioner briefed the participants of the meeting about the steps taken to monitor transport fares.

He said the district administration revised the transport fares and also mobilised field teams to check overcharging in public transport.

The chief commissioner directed to increase the number of field staff to check transport fares.
