SU comes out of financial crunch, announces pay raise.

DADU -- The Sindh University has finally pulled out of financial crunch with the help of strict implementation of austerity measures, which has enabled it to raise salaries of teaching assistants by Rs5,000 and those of daily wage earning employees by Rs200 to provide them some relief amid unprecedented inflation.

The university's vice chancellor, Prof (meritorious) Dr Mohammad Sid-dique Kalhoro, announced the raise amid a number of other decisions made at a joint meeting of deans of faculties, heads of academic departments and administrative officials at the campus on Monday.

The VC said that the teaching assistants and the daily-wagers would receive the raise amount in their April salaries. The Rs200 increase in daily-wagers' pay would provide to give them some financial relief, he...
