CNG closure.

THE decision to shut down CNG stations in Peshawar and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is a commendable decision. Domestic consumers are suffering in these freezing winters due to erratic supply of natural gas, and there is already a significant improvement in gas supply and pressure since the closure of CNG stations on Jan 1.

The usage of gas increases manifold during winters for obvious reasons in houses, offices and other establishments. We already have petrol available as an alternative source for vehicles, but there is none for heating purposes. As such, it is only logical to prioritise consumption patterns of the natural resource.
