CMCH Larkana faces multifarious problems.

LARKANA -- Chandka Medical College Hospital (CMCH), Larkana, having 1500- beds, is facing crisis-like situation since past one year as SNEs of projects completed between 2007-10 have not yet been approved which has multiplied woes of the patients on one hand and has caused acute shortage of medics and paramedics on the other because these new schemes are being managed with meager staff transferred from other wards. These schemes include 40-bedded Extension of Eye Ward, 40-bedded Accident and Emergency Center, 8-bedded Thalassaemia Centre which has been handed over to a private party, 8-bedded Burns Center, Benazir Bhutto Skin Disease Complex and Establishment of Dental and Hepatology Department. Another scheme Faryal Talpur Cardiac Complex was handed over to NICVD. The required costly machinery, equipment and instruments were procured for these new departments which are lying either idle or used elsewhere.

The CMCH authorities have written several reminders to Health Department, but all have been ignored despite the fact that PPP rulers had been claiming that vision of Shaheed Mohtarma...
