CMCH doctors, paramedics boycott duties.

LARKANA -- Doctors and paramedics staged a demonstration outside central OPD of Chandka Medical College Hospital after boycotting duties for two hours on Monday to press Sindh government to accept their demands.

Members of Paramedics Staff Association, Young Nurses Association and Young Doctors Association took part in the protest held under the aegis of Grand Health Alliance (GHA).

Zulfikar Sahito, general secretary of paramedics association, said the token strike and boycott of OPDs would continue till Thursday in protest against Sindh government's failure to issue a notification after verbally accepting their demands. 'We are demanding risk allowance, service structure, time scale and utility allowance etc.,' he said.

He said the Sindh government's negotiating team comprising provincial ministers Nasir Shah, Saeed Ghani and Sharjeel Memon along with health and finance officials had held talks with GHA leaders after the protesters were baton charged and tear-gassed in Karachi, injuring several people.
