CM visits PDMA offices, monitors situation of different cities.

LAHORE -- :Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar visited the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) offices here on Sunday and inspected the control room monitoring system.

He observed condition of different cities on the computer systems live. He was given briefing on locust attack, corona situation, Insaf Imdad Programme and flood at PDMA central control room.

The senior member Board of Revenue (SMBR), in a briefing, said that possible arrival of locust from Balochistan and other provinces was being continuously monitored. A large number of locusts were being seen at Barkhan, Dera Bugti, Dera Murad Jamali and Kashmre. He said that 28 lakh acres of land had been cleared from locust. It was also informed during the briefing that locally manufactured vehicle-mounted machine cost ten time less and its performance was also excellent.

The CM expressed keen interest in the vehicle-mounted machine being locally prepared.

The PDMA director general informed the CM that corona situation across the province was being monitored each and every second in every city of the province in the control room. All departments and districts have been provided more than eight lakh protected gowns, more than seven lakh N-95 masks and other medical equipments along with providing spray machines, thermal guns, face shields, goggles and other protective equipments, he said.

The DG said that sub-committee of PDMA consisting of experts have prepared standard decision of personal protective equipment. He added that the PDMA also timely provided Rs2.27 billion funds to divisional headquarters and districts in order to cope with the coronavirus. With the help of field staff, citizens coming from abroad were being identified in the districts.

He informed that tests of citizens and their family members coming from foreign countries were also being conducted. The PDMA was providing funds to the departments concerned and essential equipment collected from private institutions and philanthropists. He said two...
