CM orders effective use of IT to improve governance.

PESHAWAR -- Chief Minister Mahmood Khanon Saturday directed the relevant authorities for necessary steps to strengthen the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) by realigning its overall working style with that of modern corporate governance.

He stressed the need for effective use of information technology to bring efficiency and transparency in government business and to create maximum employment opportunities for the youth, according to a statement issued here.

He directed the authorities to pro-pose necessary amendments in the existing laws governing KPITB to this end. The chief minister was chairing the 10thboard meeting of KPITB at the CM Secretariat here.

Mahmood Khan said that promotion of information technology in both the public and private sector of the province was one of the key priority areas of his government.

He remarked that maximum employment opportunities could be created by attracting international IT companies for investment. He said with this objective in mindthe government had establishedan autonomous IT Board.
