CM orders early handover of land to PKHA for motorway projects.

PESHAWAR -- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Monday directed authorities to hand over the land to the Pakhtunkhwa Highways Authority (PKHA) for the Swat Motorway's Phase II and Dir Motorway on a priority basis.

During a meeting here, the chief minister also asked the PKHA to begin work on different sections of the motorway simultaneously for completion within the stipulated time.

The meeting was called to review progress on road projects, according to an official statement issued by the Chief Minister's House.

Mr Mahmood said the communications and works department should accelerate work on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rural Accessibility Project and Provincial Roads Improvement Project.

He said the Swat Motorway Phase-II was an important project for boosting tourism in the area.

'This project will not only provide easy access to tourist destinations but will also help in generating livelihood opportunities for the locals,' he said in the statement.

Earlier, officials informed the other participants about progress on the Swat Motorway Phase-II, Dir Motorway and other road projects.
