Closed flour mills in merged districts to open soon: official.

PESHAWAR -- The closed flour mills in merged tribal districts will be opened again soon which will create job opportunities for the local youth and improve economy of the region. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Director Food Mian Abdul Qadir said in a statement that the production of wheat and other crops has reduced by 60 percent due to enormous increase in population. He said wheat production in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is one million tons, while the production of tribal districts is only one lakh tons. He said 70 percent wheat in KP is being brought from Punjab to fulfill the requirements of the province due to shortage of production.

He said production in KP hasreduced enormously due to increase in population. He said drastic steps are needed to overcome the problem of shortage of wheat in KP.
