Clerks take to streets in Mohmand.

MOHMAND -- The local chapter of All Pakistan Clerks Association staged a protest in support of their demands at district headquarter Ghalani here on Thursday.

Haji Abdul Wakil, Shams, Wasif Khan, Habib Syed, Israr and other leaders of APCA said that government failed on all fronts.

They said that since formation of the present government, inflation was doubled and food prices skyrocketed that forced the families of low-income employees to go on hunger strike.

They said that government did not increase the salaries of the employees in its two-year tenure while inflation was doubled. They demanded of governments to accept legitimate demands of employees or else they would not hesitate to launch a protest campaign.

Meanwhile, people continued their protest in Ghalanai on the second consecutive day against suspension of incentives of tribal elders. The tribal elders assembled outside district headquarters hospital Ghalanai and blocked Peshawar-Bajaur Road for six hours.

The local leaders of political parties also participated in the protest to express solidarity with the tribal elders.
