Civil society decries lack of basic facilities in Thatta district.

THATTA -- Citizens from various backgrounds in Thatta have risen up against the inadequate facilities and poor living conditions in their area. In a display of protest, they established a tent camp and blocked the national highway near the busy Thatta Bypass.

During the protest, several speakers, including Syed Jalal Shah (President of STP Thatta Chapter), Advocate Sarwar Palijo, Iqbal Jakhro (President of the Thatta Press Club), Syed Rizwan Shah, Mehboob Brohi, and others, strongly criticized the frequent prolonged gas and power load shedding, as well as the severe shortage of drinking water that has plagued Thatta District's cities, villages, and nearby areas for several months.
