Civil society activist passes away.

LAHORE -- An activist for progressive causes and civil society leader, Rana Shafiqur Rehman, breathed his last here on Wednesday. He was 58.

He had suffered a heart attack a couple of days ago and was admitted to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology, where he was put on ventilator but could not survive.

His funeral prayers were offered late on Wednesday night and was laid to rest in the graveyard of Eden Park Housing Society on Raiwind Road. A brother-in-law of senior journalist Imtiaz Alam, late Mr Rehman has left behind two daughters and his wife to mourn his death.
