CISSS pays an introductory outreach visit to Karachi Council on Foreign Relations.

KARACHI -- The Center for International Strategic Studies Sindh (CISSS) paid an introductory outreach visit to Karachi Council on Foreign Relations (KCFR) on 18 July 2022. The delegation comprising of Research Officer Ms Safia Malik, Research Officer Mr Tarique Ahmed Abro, Research Assistant Mr Zeeshan Hyder, and Research Officer Ms Syeda Sabiha Mehreen Rizvi was headed by Director Research-I Mr Aftab Hussain. Team CISSS was received by the Secretary General/CEO KCFR Cdre (R) Sadeed A. Malik at Quaid-e-Azam House, also known as Flagstaff House.

The purpose of the visit was to introduce CISSS to KCFR and discuss the areas of mutual interest and the scope of future collaboration between the two organisations. Mr Aftab Hussain briefed the host about the aims, objectives and vision of CISSS and apprised him about the activities that CISSS has performed so far. Cdre (R) Sadeed A. Malik was highly appreciative of Team CISSS's efforts and assured his full support and cooperation in the future as well. Team CISSS was given a guided tour of the premises and briefed about the workings of KCFR.

It was mutually agreed upon that both the institutes would mutually organize conferences, seminars, webinars, and cooperation in conducting joint research projects, after the signing of an MoU. The visit concluded with the exchange of souvenirs and pleasantries.

Six more routes of Peoples Bus service being functionalized: CM Murad

KARACHI: Out of 11 routes of Peoples Bus Service, two have been operationalized and six more, including of Larkna are being made operational within next two days while the infrastructure of four remaining routes is being improved to start the bus service.

This emerged in a meeting held here at CM House under the chairmanship of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by Minister Transport Sharjeel Inam Memon, Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Shah, Administrator Karachi Murtaza Wahab, Commissioner Karachi Iqbal Memon, Secretary Local Government Najam Shah, Secretary Transport Haleem Shaikh, DIG Traffic Ahmed Nawaz, MC KMC Syed Afzal, DG KDA Mohamad Ali Shah, Chief engineer CB Malir, Bashir Mirjat and Kashif Khan of SMTA, and Amir Shah and Shoaib Rafiq of NRTC.
