Chohan should not comment on Seraiki province issue: minister.

LODHRAN -- Fayyazul Hassan Chohan is unaware of the issues of south Punjab, because he doesn't belong to the area, so he should not comment on Seraiki province issue.

Provincial Energy Minister Dr Akhtar Malik said this for his cabinet colleague Mr Chohan who holds information portfolio in Punjab, during a visit to Lodhran on Wednesday.

Dr Malik, responding to a media query, said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government was serious in establishing a sub-secretariat for south Punjab and it was part of the party's manifesto. 'We got votes and our people elected us from south Punjab and we will strive for south Punjab province,' he said.

He said the government was discussing the south Punjab province plan with the stakeholders and a sub-secretariat for the region would be established soon.

He said the last PML-N government was in a position to carve out south Punjab province, but it did not do this during its tenure.
