Chawinda residents protest choked sewerage.

SIALKOT -- Scores of people, including women and children, protested in Chawinda, Pasrur tehsil here on Saturday against the local administration for allegedly failing to fix the clogged sewerage system of the city.

They chanted slogans against the officials concerned and claimed that the sewerage lines had been choked for several months, adding to the miseries of the people. They told the media that all the streets and roads in Chawinda were inundated with sewage and the local administration had turned a blind eye towards the situation.

They further said the recent heavy rains had exacerbated the situation, adding that children had to suffer a great deal while passing through these streets to get to their schools and colleges.

The women protesters said the entire sewerage system of Chawinda city was lying clogged for several months and the local administration had been unable to solve the problem.
