Chairmen of Swabi tehsil councils seek uplift funds.

SWABI -- The chairmen of Razaar, Chota Lahor and Topi tehsil councils, who belong to opposition parties, have demanded the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to immediately release funds to the local governments so they could serve the people of their respective areas.

In separate gatherings here on Sunday, they alleged that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf provincial government wanted to cripple the performance of tehsil chairmen belonging to the opposition parties.

They threatened to stage a protest demonstration in front of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly building if the funds were not released immediately.

Razaar tehsil chairman Ghulam Ahmad Haqqani, who had won the election on Awami National Party's ticket, said that the delaying tactics of the PTI government to release funds would backfire as this money would be spent on the welfare of people.

Criticise govt for resorting to delaying tactics

Chota Lahor tehsil council chairman Adil Khan of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz said that they would expose the provincial government and the ruling party's ill-planning. He threatened tolaunch a campaign to educate the people about the government's negative designs to keep them deprived of their rights.
