'Census crucial for better planning'.

PESHAWAR -- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Dr Shahzad Khan Bangash on Saturday said the census, a detailed head count of population, was a crucial exercise for better planning and development and equitable distribution of resources.

'Quality data is of paramount importance for planning and development and census is the best practice to collect it,' he said.

The chief secretary was speaking at a function held at a government school after inaugurating trainings for the staff of the seventh national census, according to a statement.
