CDA plans data bank of missing facilities.

ISLAMABAD -- The Capital Development Authority (CDA) plans data bank of streets and roads infrastructure and other missing facilities in urban areas of the capital city.

A consultant is being hired in this regard to carry out a survey of the city roads and other infrastructure, which are in need of repair.

The CDA's Departmental Working Party in its meeting on Jan 8 will take up the issue of hiring services of the consultant.

CDA Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed told Dawn that earlier, the authority used to carry out repair and maintenance work in haphazard manner that resulted in neglecting some areas.

'A survey of entire city to make assessment and prepare estimates and then execution is the need of the hour. After completion of the survey, we will carry out development work on need basis, not on pick and choose basis,' he said.

Director Technical Faisal Naeem said the services of consultant would be hired after competitive process and in future all repair work and new road network would be carried out on the basis of the survey's finding.
