Case against transpersons for thrashing policemen.

CHINIOT -- A group of transpersons on Saturday beat policemen who raided a party at Shama Cinema on a complaint.

The transpersons were dancing at a party where police conducted a raid on a complaint and tried to implicate them for alleged violation of the sound system ordinance and aerial firing by some persons.

The transpersons, however, turned the tables on police and beat them. Some people rescued the policemen.

Later, the transpersons went to the main tehsil chowk and staged a sit-in.They chanted slogans against police.

They told reporters the police demanded bribe to grant permission for the function. As there was no bar to political rallies and public gatherings, they said, why they were stopped to do their private function within the confines of a place.

The protest disrupted the traffic on the highway leading to Chiniot.

The DSP city reached the spot and assured justice to the protesters after which they dispersed peacefully and the traffic was restored.
