Capital reports more positive cases.

ISLAMABAD -- The number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the capital rose to 9,637 on Thursday while the death toll stood at 95.

Officials from the capital administration said one more patient died in the capital while 395 people tested positive.

The deceased was a resident of Khanna and died at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims).

As many as 38 cases were reported from Lohi Bher, 24 from G-9, 23 from I-8, 19 from G-10, 18 each from G-8 and G-6, 15 each from Bhara Kahu, and Tarlai, 13 from F-11, 12 from Khanna, 11 from I-9, 10 each from Sohan, F-10 and G-5, nine each from G-11, F-6, eight from F-7 and seven each from E-11, Chak Shahzad, Rawat and F-8.

The remaining cases were reported from 19 other areas; addresses of eight patients are not known.

There are 331 beds allocated for the Covid-19 patients in 13 different hospitals in the capital along with 81 ventilators, they said, adding out of the total number 72 beds and six ventilators were available.

Meanwhile, the Senate Secretariat appreciated Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Hamza Shafqaat for carrying out the official obligations with utmost dedication.

'The DC played a pivotal role in implementation of SOPs, services delivery and making lives of citizens comparatively safer in reference to making efforts to control spread of Covid-19 in the capital,' it said in a letter.

Rawalpindi

As many as 144 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the city on Thursday; five patients died from the disease while 17 confirmed patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery.

Four patients from Gujar Khan tehsil were brought to Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) on June 17 where they passed away on Thursday. A resident of Gulzar Road, Pindora, who was admitted to the Holy Family Hospital (HFH) on June 17 also died.
