Capital Police resolves 95 per cent child abduction cases during 2019.

ISLAMABAD -- The police resolved 95 per cent cases of child abduction during 2019 and reunited 69 children with their families, the police spokesman on Monday said.

A special Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) was issued to check child abduction cases in the federal capital following orders of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar khan.

Special desks were set up across all the police stations under supervision of DIG (Operations) Waqar Uddin Syed and Zonal SPs for the purpose of prompt registration of child kidnapping cases and guidance of the parents.

A total of 75 cases were registered in previous year regarding kidnapping of children of which 73 were resolved.

The immediate investigation started after registration of the cases ensured safe recovery of 69 children who were united to their families.
