Canadian FM discusses pluralism, human rights and issues of regional concern, including situation in J and K with Jaishankar.

OTTAWA -- Francois-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Foreign Affairs Canada, welcomed Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of India, to Canada.

The meeting was an occasion to reinforce the long-standing friendship between Canada and India, based on a shared commitment to democracy and the rules-based international order, as well as strong people-to-people ties and growing economic engagement.

Minister Champagne and Minister Jaishankar discussed concrete actions to strengthen the bilateral relationship between Canada and India through shared priorities, such as trade and investment, gender equality, climate change, and peace and security.
