Call for cooperation between media, police.

ISLAMABAD -- Stakeholders on Friday expressed their commitment to take forward the agenda of systematic cooperation between two important institutions of functioning state and society. They expressed these views during a webinar titled 'Police Media Sath Sath' held in Islamabad.

Organised by Communications Research Strategies (CRS), the fourth edition of the webinar series presented an opportunity to participants to share their views on dynamics of police and media. Aoun Sahi, a current affairs producer, emphasised the need to invest resources on public affairs management within the police in addition to desired structured and functional reforms.

Islamabad-based crime reporter of an English daily, Tahir Niaz, shared a comprehensive list of reforms based on his experience in the field with the participants.

Journalist Umer Janjua discussed the limitations of policing due to lack of budget and stressed on adopting innovative techniques to modernise police as per international standards.
