Cabinet postpones IG Kaleem's transfer, hands over matter to Governor, CM Sindh.

ISLAMABAD -- The transfer of Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kaleem Imam was postponed as federal cabinet handed over the matter to Governor Sindh Imran Ismail and Chief Minsiter Sindh Murad Ali Shah.

Meeting of the federal cabinet that was held in Islamabad on Tuesday with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair discussed overall political and economic situation of the country.

During the meeting, federal cabinet members belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and coalition partner Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) expressed concerns over the issue of Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kaleem Imam's transfer.

The transfer was postponed as federal cabinet handed over the matter to Governor Sindh Imran Ismail and Chief Minsiter Sindh Murad Ali Shah.

The government members from Sindh also expressed concerns over IG Sindh issue following which it was decided to further consult Sindh governor and chief minister for finalizing the IGP appointment.

Sources further said that federal cabinet meeting reviewed 15-point agenda. The meeting reviewed issuance of license of prohibited and unlawful bore arms.

Later, briefing the media on cabinet meeting in Islamabad, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said at the outset of the meeting the Prime Minister vowed to take every step to provide relief to the people who are facing the brunt of inflation.
